A new year is upon us and with it comes the promise of a slate wiped clean and a feeling like anything is possible. This is your time to shine and to make your life as fabulous as you want it to be.
Here are a few ways to reinvent yourself this year:
Commit to an exercise routine.
I know, I know. It’s cliché. A new year is here so we must make the ever popular “get fit” resolutions. However, exercise is so important to living a fabulous life. I am not thinking of exercise as a means to lose weight and get fit, necessarily, but a way of extending your life and keeping you healthy and energetic. Exercise gives you energy and can make you feel strong and beautiful. Find a routine and a schedule that makes you feel your most fabulous.
Cut out the sugar.
Sugar wreaks havoc on your body and mind and, in this day and age, we seem to be so addicted to it. Look in to doing a sugar detox. It’s amazing how much better you will feel when you cut down on the sugar.
Learn something new or invest in a new hobby.
Is there something you have always wanted to try or learn? Another language, perhaps? Or a hobby like photography, playing an instrument, etc.? Pick one and carve out some time this year to learn it. As human beings, we were created to learn and enjoy the world around us. Learning something new keeps you fresh and your brain in good working order.
Clean out the clutter.
Life immediately seems better and easier when you live in a clean, organized environment. Take some time to go through the clutter and clean out what you can. Take 3 boxes and mark each one with Keep, Toss, and Give Away respectively. Go through drawers, closets, countertops, etc. and toss items (those not already in their proper place) into their respective box. When you are done, take the box marked “Toss” and, obviously, toss those items out. Take the box market “Give Away” and put it in your car to take to Goodwill or another donation center. And, finally, take your “Keep” items and put them away in their proper places.
A fabulous life is hard to have when you feel like you are drowning in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. Commit to a budget this year. Sit down and fill out your budget with realistic intentions and make sure to include some money, even if it is just a few bucks, to put into savings for emergencies, vacations, etc. If you are looking for a good place to start, use The Fab Life Budget. I have been using this form of budgeting for years and it has worked very well for me. It budgets by paycheck so you can clearly see how much you will have leftover from each paycheck to use towards debt, savings, vacations, etc.
While there are many things you can do to live a more fabulous life, these are just a few that are relatively easy to start that will give you a push in the right direction. It’s just a matter of finding a little time and making them a habit which can be a little more difficult at times but all good things are worth the effort.
I wish you a very Happy New Year! And I look forward to sharing amazing things with you this year!
