I’ve been strict keto since Tuesday and, by weigh-in day on Friday, I had lost 2.7 lbs. Now, some of that will be water weight but, still, it is motivating. Coming down off the carbs I had been eating has been a little bit of a struggle but not too bad. The weekend, though, has been tough.
I realized this weekend that I tend to reward myself with food. I can do well all week but the minute Friday night hits I want to eat out. But I don’t just want to eat something healthy that I could easily make at home or it feels like a waste of an outing. Plus, it gives me something to look forward to all week.
So, I’m making it my mission this week, and in the next few weeks, to find replacements for food rewards. I need to find something else to look forward to at the end of the week. Some little pleasures here and there that keep me going on my diet but still make me feel like I am enjoying my life.
Again, I think this feeling is just temporary until I push through the carb detox and start to feel better. And that 2.7 lbs. is definitely encouraging. Let’s see if we can do it again next week!
