I’m on a roll!  Another 2.6 lbs. down!  I think I have finally found my weight loss sweet spot.  I’ve spent years going back and forth and wanting to lose the weight so quickly that I end up failing.  I still feel the pull to do everything I can to make it drop off fast.  But, so far, slow and steady has been manageable and easier than I thought it would be.

Diet

My sweet spot is keeping my carbs under 50 grams a day, my fat under 80 grams a day, and sticking to my calorie goal which is currently 1428 – the recommended amount via MyFitnessPal in order to lose 2 lbs. per week.  I have also been careful to exercise every time I go over my calories some.

Exercise

I would like to exercise daily and have had plans to commit to the Morning Meltdown 100 as I’ve mentioned before but I haven’t quite gotten there yet.  The best time for me to exercise would be in the morning but I’m not a morning person and something has gotten in the way of getting up, like colds and toddlers, every morning this week.  I’ll get there.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes next week.  While I hate losing slowly, it is the best process.  Plus, I calculated and if I continue to lose about 2.5 lbs. a week then I will weigh around 182 around cruise time and that is almost my target of 175 lbs.  If I can get the exercise down, perhaps I can lose the extra 7 lbs.

The Numbers

Starting Weight225 lbs.
January Weight Loss (So Far)5.2 lbs.
Current Weight219.8 lbs.
Cruise Goal Weight175 lbs.
Pounds to Go44.8 lbs.
